How to Price 3D Prints for Etsy (Fees Included)

6 min read · Updated November 2026

Selling 3D prints on Etsy is a popular way to start, but Etsy's fees come out of every sale, and they're calculated on more than just your item price. If you set prices without them, a sale that looks profitable can end up close to break-even.

This guide covers what Etsy charges, how much it adds up to on a typical order, and how to set prices that hold up after fees.

What Etsy charges

At the time of writing (November 2026), Etsy's main fees for US sellers are:

Fees change from time to time and differ by country, so check Etsy's own fee page for your shop's current rates.

A worked example

A print listed at $25 with $5 shipping, so the buyer pays $30 before any sales tax:

Order total (item + shipping)$30.00
Transaction fee: 6.5% of $30−$1.95
Payment processing: 3% of $30 + $0.25−$1.15
Listing renewal on sale−$0.20
You receive$26.70
If the sale came from an Offsite Ad: 15% of $30−$4.50
You receive (Offsite Ad sale)$22.20

That's about 11% of the order on a normal sale, and closer to 26% when an Offsite Ad is involved. The shipping you charge is still owed to the carrier, so it isn't profit either.

How to price so fees don't eat your profit

  1. Work out your true cost first. Material, electricity, machine wear, labour, failed prints and packaging. Our guide on how to price 3D prints walks through each one.
  2. Add your markup. This is your profit.
  3. Gross it up for fees. Divide your target by what you keep after percentage fees. If fees take about 10%, divide by 0.90. A print you want to clear $27 on becomes $27 ÷ 0.90 = $30.
  4. Check the Offsite Ads case. If a sale through an ad would leave you below cost, your price is too low for ads, or you should opt out if your shop size allows it.

Things that quietly cost Etsy sellers money

Know your real monthly profit

The only way to know whether Etsy is working for you is to track sales, fees and expenses together, month by month. That turns "I had a busy month" into "I made $412 after everything."
